FINAL ANIMATION

So everything's come together.

There was quite a few trial and errors involved in the different effects but eventually pulled them all together.

After Effects Advanced!

Moving onto more in depth workshops where we were playing about with more advanced effects such as zoom, opacity etc etc. (oh and including 3D cameras)

first of all we separated the two layers so they were editable in AE.

After having a play about my outcome was as follows..

So the first workshop we had we just learned basics. Cutting out a bird and importing it into After Effects with 2 layers and moving it.

so here was the process..

paper experiment

i thought one way of showing the pop ups of the landmarks was to use stop motion and unfold them. I experimented with an a4 sheet of paper to see how it would come out.

this was made just using an ipad app but it gives the idea of what it would look like.

Extra Inspiration

right at the end there is a small animation of him travelling across america, thats kind of the idea i want to put across in my animation.

STORYBOARD IS BORN

So this is the background I am going to use for the entire animation so creating the background has been pretty simple.

 

The next obvious step in developing the storyboard is to insert each pop up and the tour bus to each frame to show the direction and route of the tour itself.

So here is the tour bus with each frame showing the movement of it with the pop ups indicating where the bus passes through. Unfortunately I couldnt use all states as the screen would be too rammed and would reduce the impact of the idea.

These are the final landmark pop ups I have decided on for the animation that i created using photoshop.
